Brinley's Sick Day!

Brinley stayed home from school because she was sick. I foolishly thought that would mean a day of laying around on the couch resting...that's what it means for most people! Brinley on the other hand cannot sit still!! She wanted to make cupcakes and decorate them like "cupcake wars". So we did! This is her finished product, complete with a white chocolate "B" for the top of her cupcake.
What a silly girl!

Couples trip to California!

This was the funnest little getaway ever! We went with the Hankins and Mechams to California over Martin Luther King Day in January. It was a blast. We flew out early (like 6am) on a Friday morning and arrived in California by 7:30am. We spent 4 whole days doing anything and everything we wanted! We flew home late Monday night. Tons of time visiting, sightseeing and eating yummy food. I think we need to make this an annual tradition!
In California we...
Toured USS Midway
Took a Segway Tour in San Diego
Visited the Newport Temple
Went to the Venice Canals
Bike riding at Hermosa Beach
Visited Old Town, San Diego
Visited the LA Temple
Went on a Whale Watching Tour
and more!!!

Tortilla Snowflake!!!???

Once upon a time a tortilla went missing from our leftover dinner! The girls also had a bad case of the giggles! I could not figure out what was going on until I woke up the next morning to see this lovely sight on my front window! I believe Emilee was the master artist of this lovely tortilla snowflake! Oh my!! Very funny girls!

New Years with the Mechams!

New Years party with the Mecham Family! We ate lots of yummy food, played some fun games, watched a movie and ended the night watching the younger kids perform the play they worked on most of the night! But...the hit of the party was...the saran wrap ball! Oh my goodness, this was the funnest game ever! We made a HUGE saran wrap ball with candy prizes all through it. If you rolled doubles you could unwrap it and keep any prized that fell out until the next person got doubles. We laughed until we cried! We found out whom among us are the most competitive!! Oh man, what a fun game and what a fun night!!

Happy New Years!!

Ice Skating!

On Dad's day off during Christmas Vacation we went Ice Skating at the Gallivan Center in Salt Lake City. We rode the Frontrunner down and then walked to the Ice skating rink. It was such a cold day. We were pretty nervous to go and almost didn't! We decided to bundle up and brave the cold. Amazingly, while we were ice skating we were fine. Once we left and walked back to TRAX it was freezing! We had so much fun though. Quincy and Brinley thought it was awesome. They want to go again for their Birthdays. This was a first for Dad! He wasn't sure he could do it or would like it, but he did great! He got braver by the minute and even managed to go the whole time without falling!! We missed Kylee. She got the chance to work at the Dentist office and really can't pass up an opportunity to earn money right now, so she didn't get to come.
We walked to City Creek afterwards and walked around for a bit before we rode TRAX back to where we caught the Frontrunner to go home. It was a fun day and we were glad we went, although we were so glad to be home in our warm house for the evening!

Rock Climbing!

We went to IROCK on a Monday night during Christmas Vacation for FHE. The kids were in heaven. This was the first time rock climbing for Quincy and Brinley. They LOVED it!! I've decided we have monkeys for kids! They all climbed to the very top! Brinley was very scared at the beginning. She went up a little further each try until she finally reached the top. She was brave to keep trying. It was a great night out together. It was a freezing cold night so we stopped at 7-11 on the way home for hot chocolate. Speaking of that...Emilee put 7-11 in the GPS on her phone and directed us to what she thought would be a 7-11. We ended up in the middle of a residential neighborhood. Chris and I were a little skeptical but she was positively sure that we would find it around the next corner. We followed her directions and drove straight to someone's house with a street number of 711! We all had a good laugh...especially because Emilee is never wrong! Just ask her!! It actually was pretty funny and gave us something to laugh about.
Great night!!
