Kylee is going to Dental Hygiene School!!!!

I don't know how we got so lucky to get such amazing kids, but somehow we did!  Kylee has been working for Dr. Murdock this past year while waiting to apply to the Dental Hygiene program.  She applied for the programs at Weber State and UVU.  These are TOUGH programs to get into.  She had to fill our applications, take a test, answer scary essay questions and have a personal interview.  Then the waiting games began.  The applicants were notified by mail and told an estimated time that their letter should arrive.  The mail has never been so exciting at our house before!! She nervously checked daily for a couple weeks before the first letter arrived!  It was from Weber State.  She was shaking as she opened it up!  And...she was accepted!!!  One of 30 in over 150 applicants.  We were so so excited!!  But...she still wanted to see what UVU said so that she could weigh her options and then make a decision.  A week later she got the results from them.  And....she got into their program too! She once again was one of only 14 accepted! That's amazing!!

Now the really hard part, she had another one of those darn life altering decisions to make.  These are her favorite...not!!!  I was so proud of her.  She did a lot of searching out information about both programs, housing, costs, etc. But more importantly she took her decision to Heavenly Father.  She prayed a lot and spent a day fasting to know what He would have her do.  At the end of the day as she concluded her fast, she had her answer.  She knew that she was supposed to stay living at home and accept her spot into the Weber State University Dental Hygiene Program. Needless to say, we were all thrilled with her decision.  We wanted her to go wherever she was supposed to go, but I think we were all secretly hoping it would be Weber State.  We are so happy to get her here with us a little longer.  She is so excited to get going in August.  I know this will be a great experience for her.  One she has definitely earned!

CONGRATULATIONS KYLEE!!

Clogging for Quincy and Brinley!

Quincy and Brinley started clogging this year. It has been so fun to watch them learn and get better. They have both caught on so quickly and are doing really well. They competed with their clogging team in 2 competitions this year and got a 1st place marking in both. They love it and plan to keep taking lessons. Good job girls!!

Tennis!

Kade was on the Freshman Tennis team this year. He really enjoyed playing and improved a ton throughout the season. These were the best pictures I could get of him. He does not appreciate his Mother taking pictures while he is trying to play. My place to watch was in the car behind this lovely fence! He worked hard and was doing really well by the end of the season. It will be fun to see what he can do next year as a Sophomore.
Great job Kade!

Quincy's Friend Birthday Party

Quincy got to have a "friend" Birthday party this year. She invited a bunch of cute girls on a Friday night and they partied it up! They played games, opened presents, roasted hot dogs and smores in our fire pit and played "Bigger, Better, Best" all over our neighborhood. I am grateful Quincy has sweet friends. They are all cute girls.
I think the party was a success!

Quincy's 12th Birthday!

Our Quincy girl turned 12!! This is a big birthday. The most exciting thing that happens when a girl turns 12 is that they get to advance from Primary to Young Women's!! She has been so excited for this to happen.

We celebrated her birthday with the Hadley family at our house. She always gets to share her Birthday party with Grandpa Tom. Their birthdays are 4 days apart. Her dream came true at this party...she got to eat lots of cheesecake!!

Quincy is growing and maturing into such a wonderful young woman. We are so proud of her. She is really developing her talents in piano, theater and singing. She is very kind and compassionate and worried about other people. She thinks she is old enough now for texting and Instagram! She is also wearing earrings and looking more grown up every day. She has the cutest cackle when she gets laughing hard...we love it! She loves to play games and still loves to watch a little TV when she can. She loves to hang out with her 2 most favorite friends, Gracie and Kira! She also loves to be with Darci at school. Quincy is a good example and always tries to do what is right.
WE LOVE YOU QUINCY!
HAPPY 12TH BIRTHDAY!!

Em!

Emilee LOVES to relax outside! Almost every morning of the entire Summer she gets up, showers and then heads to the backyard to sun dry her hair while she reads a book. She decided to hang the hammock from the swingset and take a nap. She also made a chair swing. She bought the fabric and rope, found a pattern and sewed it herself. One thing about Emilee, she hates to be bored! She will always come up with some kind of a project to keep herself entertained. Good thing she has that wonderfully creative mind of hers!!

Quincy gets her ears pierced!

At our house you can get your ears pierced when you are 12!! Quincy turned 12 this year and that's all she wanted for her Birthday. The Friday night before her Birthday we went to the mall in Logan and she got the job done. She was all smiles at first, then got a little nervous. She was brave though and went for it. She thought it hurt a bit! It does! She was pretty happy with them when it was all over. She looks very cute and a little too grown up with her new earings!

Easter morning!

The Easter Bunny found us again this year! He left flip flops and candy. As you can see, Brinley still thinks a new pair of flip flops for Easter is pretty exciting!! Not sure Quincy agrees with her!
What we love most about Easter is what it means to us. We are so grateful that the Savior rose on that third day and overcame death so that we might all live again with Him and our Heavenly Father. We are so blessed to know these truths of this wonderful gospel!
Happy Easter!

Easter Party!

We had the Hadley family at our house for an Easter party! We dyed Easter eggs, had a candy hunt and ate yummy food together. We even had Easter bunnies this year!!
