New Years with the Mechams!

New Years party with the Mecham Family! We ate lots of yummy food, played some fun games, watched a movie and ended the night watching the younger kids perform the play they worked on most of the night! But...the hit of the party was...the saran wrap ball! Oh my goodness, this was the funnest game ever! We made a HUGE saran wrap ball with candy prizes all through it. If you rolled doubles you could unwrap it and keep any prized that fell out until the next person got doubles. We laughed until we cried! We found out whom among us are the most competitive!! Oh man, what a fun game and what a fun night!!

Happy New Years!!

Ice Skating!

On Dad's day off during Christmas Vacation we went Ice Skating at the Gallivan Center in Salt Lake City. We rode the Frontrunner down and then walked to the Ice skating rink. It was such a cold day. We were pretty nervous to go and almost didn't! We decided to bundle up and brave the cold. Amazingly, while we were ice skating we were fine. Once we left and walked back to TRAX it was freezing! We had so much fun though. Quincy and Brinley thought it was awesome. They want to go again for their Birthdays. This was a first for Dad! He wasn't sure he could do it or would like it, but he did great! He got braver by the minute and even managed to go the whole time without falling!! We missed Kylee. She got the chance to work at the Dentist office and really can't pass up an opportunity to earn money right now, so she didn't get to come.
We walked to City Creek afterwards and walked around for a bit before we rode TRAX back to where we caught the Frontrunner to go home. It was a fun day and we were glad we went, although we were so glad to be home in our warm house for the evening!

Rock Climbing!

We went to IROCK on a Monday night during Christmas Vacation for FHE. The kids were in heaven. This was the first time rock climbing for Quincy and Brinley. They LOVED it!! I've decided we have monkeys for kids! They all climbed to the very top! Brinley was very scared at the beginning. She went up a little further each try until she finally reached the top. She was brave to keep trying. It was a great night out together. It was a freezing cold night so we stopped at 7-11 on the way home for hot chocolate. Speaking of that...Emilee put 7-11 in the GPS on her phone and directed us to what she thought would be a 7-11. We ended up in the middle of a residential neighborhood. Chris and I were a little skeptical but she was positively sure that we would find it around the next corner. We followed her directions and drove straight to someone's house with a street number of 711! We all had a good laugh...especially because Emilee is never wrong! Just ask her!! It actually was pretty funny and gave us something to laugh about.
Great night!!

Christmas Breakfast at Grandma's & Christmas Dinner!

We partied ALL day long!! Christmas would not be Christmas without Breakfast and Grandma Barb's and Grandpa Tom's! We love that tradition. We had an amazing breakfast and then exchanged gifts with each other. John and Cindy joined us along with Grandma Wyatt this year. It was fun to have them there. The kids got a few more surprises and of course had fun with cousins.

That night everyone came to our house for Christmas Dinner. We ate potluck and watched a Christmas Movie. Some pretty competitive games were going on at the kitchen table!!

Busy but wonderful day!
Merry Christmas everyone!!

Christmas morning!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
We had a wonderful Christmas morning together. Presents were very simple once again because we are using ALL of our Christmas money to go towards our trip to Hawaii next Summer!!  Yahoo!! We've learned that it doesn't take lots of presents to have a great Christmas! Quincy and Brinley were super excited about their HUGE snowcone maker that they got to share. Kade and Emilee got new winter coats and Kylee got some Book of Mormon study guides.

Chris' surprise was a Star Wars blanket and movie tickets to see the new Star Wars movie. He's pretty sure he's the ONLY one in all of America that hasn't seen it yet! I got spoiled the most this year!! Kade took good care of his Mother! A little before Christmas he pulled Chris aside and asked him what he was going to get me. We don't usually exchange gifts with each other when we are going on a family vacation with the Christmas money. Chris told him that, but Kade was sure that he needed to have a surprise for me on Christmas morning. They went together and picked out a new knife set. It's awesome and I love it. I was super surprised!! Kade has a big heart and is a great young man. And I'm not just saying that because he bought me a nice big Christmas present!!!

We will enjoy the rest of "Christmas" in July while we are basking in the Hawaiian Sun!!!
