Wizard of Oz!

Quincy auditioned for a play at Heritage Theater...and she made it!  We were so so so excited for her.  She was so brave.  We decided to have her learn "I whistle a Happy Tune" for her audition.  Sydney Smith came over and helped her add a little choreograph to it and it was darling.  She marched in there and sang it in front of the 3 judges like it was nothing.  I don't even think she was nervous!  This is totally her thing!

After waiting for what seemed like forever, we found out that she had been cast as a munchkin!  Over 90 kids tried out and they cast 24. She was so happy!  She could not wait for rehearsals to start.  They practiced twice a week for months!  Towards the end they practiced every day for a couple of weeks.  Never once did she mind it.  She loved every second that she was there.

They performed it for a packed house 17 times!  She was truly in the height of her glory! She sang her heart out during the play and even was the only munchkin to get a speaking part.  One line of fame!  I think this sealed the deal for her, we have a little actress on our hands.  She can't wait to try out for another play.  This has been so fun for our family...we have never done anything in theater, but I think Quincy will cure us of that!

Great Job Quincy, we are proud of you!

Quincy's Pentathalon!

Every year our Elementary school has a pentathlon.  Quincy chose to participate and her partner was her friend Lexi.  Quincy did the biking leg while Lexi did the running.  They each do their part and then meet up together and go through an obstacle course to the finish line.  They keep track and give awards to the top 3 pairs for each grade.  Her and Lexi took 2nd place for the 4th grade girls!!

Good Job Quincy!!

Our Awesome teenage golfer!!

Kade has decided he loves to golf...like his Dad!  As you can imagine, his Dad is pretty excited about that idea.  He now has a partner and a great reason to spend money golfing!  Kade saved up his money this year and bought himself a season pass to the golf course in Brigham City.  He thinks he would like to be on the golf team in High School.  We will see how that works out!

Happy Golfing Kade...and Chris!!

Perry Yard Sale!

Every year Perry has a day  in May when the whole town participates in one huge yard sale.  If you call into the city they will put your location on a map that is handed out to all of the yard sale shoppers!  Kade is the biggest business man you will ever find!  He is going to be rich one day, mark my word.  He is not afraid of hard work...he just wants any opportunity he can find to earn money!  People keep reassuring me that it's a great trait to have as a male...and not a greedy one!

He has begged for the past 2 years to have a yard sale.  I hate yard sales...I'd much rather just haul it all off to the D.I.  This year I told him if he would help with all of the work to get it ready, that we could do it!  He was awesome.  He hauled all of the stuff outside.  Spent the whole day before helping me price things and was a great help when it was time to put it all away.  He way outlasted any of his sisters!! We decided to get muffins from Costco to add to our sale.  Of course, the day of the yard sale was a rainy mess.  It was cold and so wet!  We set up inside our garage instead of out on the driveway.  It worked great though, and I was amazed at the traffic we still had on a constant basis.  The rain did not deter people at all!

We successfully got rid of most of our "junk" and made $216.00 doing it!  Kade was thrilled.  He keeps telling me "I told you so!"  He's pretty determined that we are doing it again next year!!
Love you Kade!!  Just share some of your fame and fortune when you make it!!

Brinley's Teddy Bear Picnic!

Brinley was so excited for the "Teddy Bear Picnic" that her school was having as an end of year activity.  It even happened to be on a Tuesday, so she got to have her Mom and Dad there!  She chose to bring her Minnie Mouse pillow pet as her stuffed animal of choice.

They played lots of fun games, played on the playground and ate lunch with their families.  She spent a bit of her time trying to avoid her Dad with the camera!!  She doesn't appreciate his great photography skills!!

Face Paint!

Isn't that awesome!!

While Chris and I were in Hawaii Emilee was the babysitter for a couple days while Kylee had to go back to St. George for a wedding reception.  We told Emilee to make sure she did something fun with the little girls to keep them entertained.  She had her friend Elizabeth come over to help.

The two of them decided to do some face painting on Quincy and Brinley.  As you can see from their big smiles, they LOVED  it!  While we were in Hawaii we got a picture text message with these pictures.  We were super impressed!  Emilee is such a little artist...and obviously she has some talented friends too!  When she is rich and famous the girls can say that she practiced on them!

Hawaii for our 20th Anniversary!

I can't believe we actually made it to Hawaii!  I have always wanted to go there and we finally made it happen.  It was such a wonderful vacation.  I cannot even explain how beautiful and fun it was!  We went to celebrate our Anniversary, but we decided to go in May instead of September.  Kylee was finished with College and could babysit for us.  We knew we might not get that opportunity again.  We were gone for 9 days.  We spent 5 days on Oahu and the rest of the time on Maui.  I absolutely loved both islands.  It was so much fun to just be able to spend time together.  After 20 years, Chris is still the one person in the whole world that I would choose to spend time with. He really is my best friend. We had such a great time together.  Now we want to take the kids back...they would love it!!
HAPPY 20TH ANNIVERSARY!

Mothers Day!

We celebrated Mothers Day a week early at our house this year.  Chris and I might have accidentally planned to be in Hawaii celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary over Mothers Day! Oops!!
I am the luckiest Mom!  I have great kids!  They give me such great presents!
This year was no exception...I got the coolest iron heart with an "M" in the middle from Kade.  He made it himself!  And my favorite part...lots of wonderful letters telling me how much I am loved.

Thanks for making me a Mom Kylee, Emilee, Kade, Quincy and Brinley!  It's all I EVER wanted to be and I got my wish 5 times over!!

Thank you and I love you all!!
